How We Measure Your Jellycat Favorites

At Pail Rabbit, we’re all about bringing you the softest hugs and warmest smiles with every Jellycat friend. Jellycats come in so many shapes and sizes, and we’re here to help you choose the perfect one! Whether it’s a tiny companion or a cuddly, oversized buddy, our measurement guide ensures you know exactly what to expect.

Understanding Measurements

Each Jellycat has its listed dimensions on the product page. These dimensions are shown in the following order:

Height – Measured from the top of the head to the heels.
Width – Measured at the widest point, viewed from the back.
Length – Measured across the broadest point from the side.

Please note, ears and tails are not included in these measurements for clarity.

How We Measure Different Designs

Sitting Cuties

For many popular designs like our adored Bashful Bunny, we use “sitting height.” This measures the Jellycat from head to bottom when seated, excluding the legs. The standard height, width, and length dimensions are still included to help you envision its size overall.

Stand-Up Friends

Jellycats that are designed to sit or stand, like Munro and Otto, are measured slightly differently:

Height is from the top of their head to their feet.
Length is from the tip of their furthest forward point to the base of the tail (excluding the tail itself).
Width is measured across the widest part of their body.

Flat Tummy Buddies

Some pals, like Scrumptious Dragons or Smudges, prefer lounging on their bellies. For them:

Height is the highest point of their body.
Width is the broad diagonal from side to side.
Length is from the tip of their nose to where their tail starts or where it curls (as in the case of our Scrumptious Dragons).

Tentacle Treasures

For Jellycats with long, flowing tentacles, like Maya the Octopus, the height is measured from the top of the head to the end of the lowest tentacle (without stretching it). Length and width only account for the main body, while sitting height excludes tentacles altogether.
